About Us
Chicagoland Sunday Baseball (CSB) started in 2004 when a few towns on the South side of Chicago came together to find a way to keep the better players in the house leagues. The solution was simple, allow the kids to play in their house league and then play a part-time travel season on Sundays when the fields were empty, all for a fraction of the cost of full-time travel baseball.

Since 2004, the league has grown from 7 towns and 25 teams to over 100 towns and 310 teams in 2010. There are 7 age groups (8 year olds through 14 years old) and two skill levels in the 10 year old through 12 year old levels and three levels for girls softball (14U / 12U and 10U).

The only qualification to enter the league is that your roster is filled with players who only play in their house league. The games are generally on Sundays, but we are all working together to also have Wednesday nights available for additional games.

In 2007 CSB hosted its first tournament over the Memorial Day weekend. The tournament was a great success as 52 teams battled to be crowned the tournament champions. The tournament was played in 6 locations with all the pool champions advancing to play the final round hosted by the Oak Forest and Palos baseball programs. The 2010 tournament had 135 teams that were hosted by 10 towns.

2007 saw the birth of the CSB fall ball program. There were 32 teams that played in the first fall ball season. The 2009 fall ball season had 65 teams in it.

The league is run by Anthony Belmonte who has been running baseball leagues since 1985. Anthony has been an officer for the Summit, LaGrange and Palos baseball leagues over the past 23 years.

You can reach Anthony at 708-261-9116 (after 5:00 p.m. ) if you would like more information about the league or he can be e-mailed at chicagosundayball@sbcglobal.net .
